Naperville teacher wins $100,000 grant for ‘Global Scholar’ Effort

The Naperville Central High School teacher who spearheaded a statewide effort to designate Global Scholar Certification on students’ diplomas and transcripts will have $100,000 to see his full vision realized.

Social studies teacher Seth Brady was one of six 2016 recipients of a $100,000 grant as part of Farmers Insurance’s Thank America’s Teachers Dream Big Teacher Challenge.

He was surprised with the award Thursday morning in front of a crowd of students, dignitaries and insurance representatives gathered in the learning commons at Naperville Central.

Brady said the money will be used to implement the plan developed by high school educators, professors, other members of academia, and nonprofit groups to promote global competence.
