Students tackle voter turnout with global perspective

GODFREY — Voter registration drives, increased emphasis on educating students and simply talking about elections might be ways to increase voter turnout in the U.S., according to students in Todd Fortschneider’s honors U.S. history class at Alton High School.

Eight students in the class gave presentations Tuesday comparing U.S. voter turnout with that in England, Spain and Germany as part of a pilot Illinois Global Scholars program at AHS.
