Described as similar to the “certificate of bi-literacy” approved earlier, a “global scholar’s certificate” could be awarded to Illinois students. A Senate committee recommended a bill setting this up.
A committee heard from Kevin Angell, a Naperville Central student who says it will help make students globally competent and competitive.
He said the program “will result in Illinois students leaving high school better prepared for their future career and their future college.”
